Yes, that is absolutely correct. I just have an abyss of abhorrence towards the editor in chief plus critc of cnn-ibn ,Rajiv Masand.
Every Friday night , this guy comes on TV with his behemoth figure like an ox of some African countries to give his so called “expert reviews” on the movies released that very day.
I am very much befuddled about one thing. On what basis does he judge the movies?
I am sure its still an Arcanum .
Last Friday ,I went for recently released “love aaj kal” which is a complete paisa vasool movie with some effortless performances, flawless plot and brilliant songs.
Althought for most of the audiences ,the film would be a normal flick but according to Masand, its an aberrant movie disguised as a realistic take on modern love.
Excuse me Mr.Masand. You are making a big mistake here. He also commented “It's like that plump mango you bite into only to discover it's not ripe yet”
The one thing he is good at is “the art of castigating a movie”.
He used to babble, like an alcoholic ,some high frequency English words for fifteen minutes about a movie and then give his so called useless rating . he is a critc,I agree . But he is crossing the limits on judging the movies.
I remember in one of the filmfare award functions what shahrukh and saif commented on critics : they are the biggest bas(tards)….baskets of knowledge on films. They are genuine ass…..assimilators of filmy gyan.
And these comeents hold true for this guy.
He is a callow young man and his comments are brackish. He needs to respect the movies and such asinine reviews which he give about movies is not going to take him anywhere……Just grow up RM.

MY FIRST DAY in OFFICE
It was july 7,2009 and has become one of the most memorable days of my life.
Presently, I am in bangalore for a 5 month internship(u can say its an industrial training because we will be paid for the work we do over here).
So ,it was 8 30 am in the morning and I entered the gigantic building in the outer ring road named FERNS ICON. The 4th and the 5th floor within are captured by ST MICROELECTRONICS where I will be trained. Its an electronics based company which is the leading supplier of semiconductor across the world.
After signing at the entrance gate(security is damn strict over there),we(overall,6 trainees from BITS) made our way directly to the 4th floor.
At the reception ,we were made to wait for the HR head Lata mam to arrive.
That time ,what I was feeling I can’t express in words. But can easily pen down the feelings in MS word(that’s what I am doing now :P).Thats not an isuue what so ever.
I was just feeling great. That time I can imagine myself as a responsible person who is charged up to enter the world of “9 am-6 pm " timing followers.
A sense of satisfaction was there. My inner self was telling me “hey smp ,you hanen’t done anything “extraordinary” till date and its time to show your technical skills and arduous work to everyone” and I was also supporting “him” in this regard.
Also a feeling of adventitiousness was growing somewhere inside .Also I felt like tapping my own shoulder and telling me “well done buddy, to secure a modest cgpa of 7.52 to get into this esteemed company” (also I was thinking about subjects like electrical science-2,maths-3 etc where I got an A :P)
After half an hour or so, Lata mam came and guided us to a room having a projector and of course(and most importantly for me) AC is on .(of course its central AC…don’t think otherwise)
We were given an orientation about ST , rules and regulations we ought to follow (otherwise “gg”) and were given a form to open an account balance . Again my impatient brain started his job. I was wondering like “oh my god! “ I will have my own bank account opened by me(earlier also I have an account but in SBI opened by my father and he can know everything what ever amount I used to withdraw. Though he never ever denied or questioned me ,but still…..)
After that we came to know about our projects . I got a project on embedded systems which required advanced C skills and some knowledge about DSP. I am very weak in C but that time ,I said to myself that this is best time to ameliorate yourself in C which is the backbone of modern technology in the present scenario.
Then we were shown the cubicles which will be occupied by us for the next 5 months
After that we came to know who will be our respective mentors.
My mentor’s name is satej pandey and he is a “kewl” guy.. then I went with him for a walk to the coffee shop on that very floor. He made me feel comfortable and described something about his work.
Then I came to know that for these 5 month,I have to work with him on audio department . I said “ok,yeh bhi kar lenge”
For the next 3-4 hours ,I just roamed around the office and had coffee for another 3-4 times(I must say the coffee was(is) damn good).
And finally the clock tickled 5 30 . Its time to go home.
It was such an unfading day of my life whose memories I will cherish throughout my life.

THERE IS ALWAYS A NEXT TIME
Today is 15th of June ,2009(I have written this blog on 15th june,2009) and yesterday night only Eng cricket team thrashed the Indians ,still the defending champions(at least for another 1 week),out of T20 world cup which left the billions of Indian fans all over the world including me in a poignant mood.
But that’s past now. Life must move on and so as Indian cricket.
One thing which has hurt me the most is the attitude of media towards this issue.
Today morning, almost in every news channel, Indian cricket team were being criticized so callously as if they have committed a felony. Dhoni , our captain, in the post match press conference ,openly apologized to the fans for their shocking exit which indicates that he was really hurt deeply . what the news channels are doing is that they are adding fuel to the fire . I mean common this is the team which has dominated the world of cricket for nearly two years. This is the captain who has changed the face of Indian cricket with his aggressive and unruffled nature. This Indian team defeated the aussies on home soil as well as on their soil which led to their downfall. This team for the first time in nearly fifty years won test as well as ODI series in New Zealand. They had mauled almost every cricketing country they faced in last 2 years.
We should not blame them just for one failure . We should stand by them. They need our support. We should behave chivalrously towards them.
We will come back and come back hard for sure.
And the boorish media should always remember-“THERE IS ALWAYS A NEXT TIME”

DOWN AND UNDER=BEGINNING OF AN END OF AN ERA AND AURA
Cricket is a game of uncertainties and a sense of ambivalence is always associated with it.But when australia is playing, there is no dubeity about the fact that they are going to thrash their opponents.Over the years, the aussies towered above every other cricketing team and overall dominated the world of cricket. They are the world number 1 team at present according to every ranking system in both ODIs and tests. But every beginning has an end.The aussie domination is coming to an end slowly but swiftly. The retirement of players like mc grath, warne, langer and gilchrist is getting too much for "the kangaroos"and the new young team led by the cheater cock ricky ponting is not well balanced to beat strong teams like India and South africa.
It was december 2007.India went down under for a 4 match test series and a triangular ODI tourney.Australia won the first test at MCG quite effortlessly and maintained the impression of being the best.It was the second test at SCG which has changed everything. It was the test where cricket was played less and controversies dominated the whole 5 day test.Remember the "monkey" or "maa ki" incident with bhajji and the fishing boy being the culprits.Because of some sloppy umpiring, rogued captaincy by the punter and to some extent, poor batting by indian tailenders, australia won the test which infact played an important role in their downfall.
3rd test at perth.Inmidst of many controversies, this test was played where Indian team led by the dignified jumbo, thrashed the aussies and given them a messege that "talk less and play more".The 4th test at adeliade was a draw and India has to satisfied with a 2-1 Series although they dominated the whole series.
Then came the CB series with sri lanka being the 3rd team.India and australia went into the finals which was a best of three.I can still recapture what ponting had said before the first final."we want to finish it off in 2 matches because it would be tiring to play the 3rd one"
He is simply great .He can see the future.India mauled them in the first two matches led by the MASTER BLASTER who scored a brilliant hundred in the first game and a patient 90 odd in the second and an extraordinary spell by praveen kumar.3rd final was indeed not required punter.
please someone ask ricky who will win the next worldcup????
Then in octobor 2008,aussies came to india with the border-gavaskar trophy under their scrap.
The war of words was alrealy started and inmidst of all this ,the first test was played at bangalore. It was a draw and i think australia dominated the whole gameIn post match match conference, ponting said "indians were playing some old school cricket".is it so Mr.CC??
The next test at mohali.India played so called "old school cricket" to trample the aussies by some 300+ runs.Ponting said after the game "they played exceptionally good cricket and they deserved to win" but i was dissapointed because he didnt explain what "old school cricket".
3rd test at delhi was a dumb draw .4th test at nagpur.India dominated the first 2 and half days but after that aussie fought back well to see them on the verge of winning the test.Just when aussies were in the driver's seat to thrash the indian tailenders, ponting again came into action
and led aussie to lose the match followed by a stupendous spell by ishant.
India won the series by 2-0.
It is dec 2008.The proteas has come to australia for a 3 match test series and a ODI tournament.1st test at perth.australia gave them an impossible target of 414 with 1 and half days left. But nothing is impervious in cricket. They achieved the total with so much ease that left the aussies bewildered.
2nd test at MCG.This time australia gave them a target of 183.No need to say the result.
today only is the 5th day of the 2nd test and south africa has already won the series.I am looking forward to the post match interview about what ponting has to say.
Thats the situation at present.Australia is a still a strong team but against the weak opponenets like WI or bangladesh. But when it comes to teams like SA or INDIA,they were no where near of being a mighty team.
Except ponting, haddin and mitchel johnson,no one is performing at present. So team australia, time to play physical cricket now rather than playing mind games or whatever.
"IS THIS THE END OF AN ERA".....time will say.

THE SHOWMAN IS GONE BUT THE SHOW IS GOING ON
Cricket is considered as "religion" in our country and is scrutinized with ease and attention.
Indian cricket has fetched many captains over the years who inspite of all their efforts couldnt bring india to position to boast of.
But the man who has changed the whole appearance of indian cricket is "the prince of kolkata".
As a person,Sourav Ganguly is a quiet, unassuming, undemonstrative man with nerves of steel and such qualities are required to make a team of top level.
When he took over the captaincy after the match-fixing exposes in 2000, he quickly proved to be a tough, intuitive and uncompromising leader after india won the home ODI series against the south africans by 3-2 and dada led from the front being the second highest run getters in the series.
Soon he was made the captain of the test side.
How can one ever forget how his side defeated the mighty aussies by 2-1 at home .Also he made aussie captain steve waugh to wait for the toss where he reached 15 minutes late.Such is the attitude of dada.
He was always antipathetic and barbaric in his approach as a captain.Under his stewardship India started winning Test matches away, and put together a splendid streak that took them all the way to the World Cup final in 2003.
Ganguly was always bold, straightforward and undisguised about whatever he does.
Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt in public and brandished it in the air to celebrate India's winning of the match at lords in 2002 natwest trophy final against england. He was later strongly condemned for tarnishing the gentleman's game image of cricket and disrespecting Lords protocol. Ganguly said that he was only mimicking an act performed by the English all-roundet flintoff during a tour of India.
But controversies always followed him.The beginning of the end came in 2004 at Nagpur - when his last-minute withdrawal played a part in Australia clinching the series - and things went pear shaped when his loss of personal form coincided with India's insipid ODI performances. Also the famous chappel-sourav's embroilment soon followed. What added fuel to fire was his lack of form at that time.He was thrown out of the Indian side by the all time biased selector Mr.venksarkar and everybody thought that is the end of an illustrious carreer. But dada had other plans.
He made his comeback soon in 2006-2007 against south africa in tests.Though india lost the series, ganguly was the highest run getter for india then. Then he didnt look back.
what followed is many astonishing and frantic knocks, couple of man of the series awards and VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT. Ganguly was at his best then as far as form is concerned.Ganguly had been prolific in both Test and ODI cricket in the year 2007. He scored 1106 Test runs at an average of 61.44 (with three centuries and four fifties) in 2007 to become the second highest run-scorer in Test matches of that year after kallis. He is the fifth highest rungetter in 2007 in ODIs where he scored 1240 runs at 44.28.Still he was left out of the Irani trophy team.this is so unconvincing, unthinkable and unimaginable as well.
Ganguly had no options left but to end his career on a high."I was tired of being humiliated again and again. I don't want to play at the mercy of others" he said in an interview just before the aussie series at home and hence declared his retirement soon after stating the aussie series would be his last.it was 7th octobor,2008.I can never ever forget that day when politics won over cricket. But dada still has something to prove .He scored heavily in his last series which led india to a 2-0 series win against the doughty aussies. He played his last test at nagpur and that was the end of an era and famous "the fab 4" link has been vanished from Indian test cricket.
Ganguly has played an important contribution in finding out and supporting players like bhajji, zaheer and yuvi who are at present the backbone of indian cricket.
SOME OF HIS UNIQUE CONTRIBUTIONS-
Only man in history of ODI cricket to grab 4 consecutive MOM awards.
Led india to win 21 test matches ,the best achieved by any other indian captain.
Highest run getter for 1st wicket in ODIs along with sachin.
This list is too long to mention.
THE SHOWMAN IS INDEED GONE BUT HIS MEMORIES,HIS UNIQUE STYLE OF BATTING(OFF SIDE),HIS EXTRAORDINARY CAPTAINSHIP SKILLS,HIS QUARRELSOME AND AGGRESSIVE ATTITUDE WILL BE CHERISHED FOREVER.
hats off to dada.we all love you.
see you in ipl.

SHAHRUKH OR AAMIR???WHO WILL BE THE LAST MAN STANDING????
hello everyone...this is my first blog and whatever i have written below is completely MY VIEW.
So to start with,i have chosen my favourite topic of discussion "BOLLYWOOD".
Over the years,we have seen a lot of rivalries amongst the bollywood actors and actresses.
To name a few, during the starting 1980s we have shabana azmi and smita patil's hidden rivalry,
amitabh and shahrukh's exposed rivalry etcetc..but according to me,the rivalry which should top the list is of between SHAHRUKH KHAN and AAMIR KHAN.
Two of India's biggest film stars at present -- both being the heart throb of a young generation -- are fighting a battle for popularity, their rivalry revealed by subtle digs.
For years, India's celebrity-obsessed media has compared their acting, star power, fan following and box office fortunes but Aamir and Shahrukh avoided commenting on each other, cloaking their rivalry behind studied sophistication.
But things have changed drastically in last 1 year or so and aamir being culprit in doing so.
I still remember what aamir has written in his blog- "Shahrukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?"how can any actor be so insecure and jealous ????This clearly indicates that aamir is showing extreme cupidity at the success of his counterpart.
While shahrukh always takes a backseat in these matters. Once he said in an interview that he finds out which actor he's supposed to be fighting with from the newspapers.
Things got worse before the release of "ghajini" which is simply a copy paste of the tamil version.Even the film name was copied.Aamir promoted his film like anything .He appeared in almost every news channel to do so.But at the same time,he directly criticized shahrukh in front of media calling him "an idiot".So in these isuues, the king khan is way ahead of aamir.
lets talk about different aspects of filmmaking and make some comparisions.
COMEDY:-
In 1994,there came aamir-salman starrer "andaz apna apna" which performed shabbily at box-office but has since gained a strong cult following over the years..
In 1999,shahrukh has done "baadshah" which performed fairly well at box-office while "main hoon na" in 2004 became a major hit.
ROMANCE:-
Aamir cant even go 10% of what Shahrukh has already achieved in this field.
Shahrukh has dilwaale dulhaniya le jaayenge, kuch kuch hota hai,dil toh paagal hai and the list will end somewhere for sure.
Aamir has 2-3 films to boast of in this field.
HISTORIC:-
After "lagaan",aamir took a long break to shoot for "mangal pandey"which failed so miserably at box office that ketan mehta dissappeared somewhere from the limelight and must be hiding somewhere now.
Shahrukh has done two films in this field.
"Asoka" and "devdas".
though asoka flopped at box office, devdas rocked.Shahrukh's performance as the rebellious alcoholic Devdas is often considered one of his best performances, garnering him a filmfare award.
SERIOUS ROLES:-
In this field, both the actors have done equally well over the years.
Aamir has done "sarfarosh","taare zameen par","rang de basanti" and a few more while shahrukh has "chakde india","kal ho na ho","kabhi khushi kabhi gam"under his belt.
Shahrukh khan has already got 13 filmfare awards while aamir has to satisfied with only 5.
None of them got national awards or oscars,so no need to compare in this field.
So,it is quite obvious that who will be the last man standing.
